Grow Community Gardens

The winter is finally over and we’re delighted to be back working on our gardens with all of our participants and volunteers. We’ve been spending the last few weeks weeding, cleaning and getting everything ready as we’ve got a busy spring and summer ahead with lots of activities planned, including cooking sessions, baking, and even painting, as well as working on our Waterworks and Camberwell Court gardens of course. Luckily, the sun’s been out and the rain has held off – here’s hoping it stays that way!

In January we welcomed our new social media intern Meghan to the Grow team. Meghan will be with us for a year and is here to run our social media and website, as well as helping to raise funds and awareness for Grow. She’ll be in the garden meeting everyone and taking pictures over the next few months so if you see her, be sure to say hello!

In April, we’re going to be taking part in Localgiving’s Local Hero campaign where Meghan is going to go vegan for the month to raise money and awareness about what we do here at Grow. The aim of Local Hero is to get as many individual sponsors for the cause as possible, and the charity with the most sponsors could win prizes between £100 and £1000. It’s about how many different people we can get to donate to help spread the word about Grow, not about how much they give. If you want to join Meghan in fundraising or would like to find out more, please keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook over the next few weeks as we’ll be sharing more information on there.
